Gynaecomastia
Enlargement of breast tissue in the male is termed “gynaecomastia”. It can occur during puberty and is considered normal. Some men develop this condition as a result of a hormonal imbalance or medications including steroids. In some men, the breast tissue of no apparent cause, persists into adulthood, and is a cause of considerable embarassment.
I use a combination of surgical excision and liposuction (including VASER) of breast tissue via a minimal incision around the nipple combined with liposuction of the chest wall. In some cases, liposuction alone may be sufficient. I will assess the condition for you at your consult and decide which option will work best for you.

The procedure is performed on the day ward. Compression garments are worn for 4-6 weeks following surgery to diminish swelling and bruising and encourage loose skin to contract after the excess tissue has been removed.
